Climb

Over the period from the end of the last semester up till around Union Camp, I was pretty much in a rut, just rotting away at home doing nothing useful. I'm glad that being involved in the FOPs kinda kickstarted a climb out of that ditch.

Looking back at exactly a year ago, it was the same set of acivities that brought about a wave of refreshing changes in my life. And also the same time that some things happened.

Time to move!

Five

Been listening to David Cook's Always Be My Baby quite a bit recently. I love his rendition.

You know, when you get to meet people whom you don't really know at first, talking a little bit with them gives you a first impression. Many times, you don't really have any intention of getting to know the person better based on this first impression. But sometimes, circumstances put you together with the person, and you start to get to know the person better.

And after that, you sometimes wonder why the heck you didn't want to find out more right from the start.

Always Be My Baby - David Cook
We were as one, babe
For a moment in time
And it seemed everlasting
That you would always be mine

Now you want to be free
So I'm letting you fly
'Cause I know in my heart babe
Our love will never die, no

You'll always be a part of me
I'm a part of you indefinitely
Girl don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby

I ain't gonna cry, no
And I won't beg you to stay
If you're determined to leave, girl
I will not stand in your way
But inevitably, you'll be back again
'Cause you know in your heart babe
Our love will never end, no

You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Girl don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby

I know that you'll be back, girl
When your days and your nights get a little bit colder
I know that you'll be right back, babe
Baby believe me it's only a matter of time

You'll always be apart of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Girl don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my my baby

You'll always be a part of me (You will always be)
I'm part of you indefinitely
Girl don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on (We will linger on)
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby

Always be my baby

Annual

It's been about a year.

And within the blink of the proverbial eye, my first year in NUS has almost come to a close, and a busy one at that. For most, when their exams for the 2nd semester ended, so did their academic year. But some, like me, got themselves embroiled in various school activities, mostly for freshmen orientation projects.

Being an OGL for Union Camp sure did bring back memories - all the cheering and chionging around for the equivalent of nothing, in pragmatic terms. Made plenty of new friends, and got to know existing ones better. And this time round, I came prepared so I didn't get as badly sunburnt as I did last year. Well, that's one of the strongest memories I have after last year's camp, so obviously I provisioned for preventing a recurrence.

Right now, I'm in a mad rush for finishing up publicity materials for other projects (Matriculation Fair, Rag & Flag), though I've managed to relax quite a bit while at it. Went out with my UC OG and managed to catch The Dark Knight. An absolutely fantastic movie by the way. Do not even think about giving it a miss. Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker was top notch, and I liked this version a lot more than the more comedic version that was in the animated series, which I used to watch as a kid. A pity that he has passed on, however.

When is a secret a secret?
